Plot : Soul Surfer is the biographical account of Bethany Hamilton, a surfer. It revolves around the courage of the surfer girl who reaches the very pinnacle, against all the odds in her life. Anna Sophia Robb is the protagonist, who plays the role of Bethany Hamilton in this soul-searching story. Bethany is a natural surfer and a whiz kid who loves to ride high waves by participating in national championships. Her best friend, Alana (Lorraine Nicholson) also plays a pivotal role in her efforts. But one morning proved to be the harbinger of a terrible accident that causes Bethany to lose her left arm in an attack by a shark. Now the movie showcases the sheer courage and determination of Bethany. The misfortune gives a severe jolt to her dreams of becoming a champion surfer. Everything changes in her life. Meanwhile, she faces loads of hardships and the situation become drastic enough for her to give up her aspirations of becoming a champion. But that is where her parents Tom Hamilton (Dennis Quad) and Cheri Hamilton (Helen Hunt) give a new meaning to the questions of her future. Buoyed by the support of her parents and group leader Sara Hill (Carrie Underwood), Bethany decides to fight back. She overcomes the trauma with the never-ending support of her family. Her courageous decision of getting a new lease of life is really well driven and she ends up winning the Championship again. Soul Surfer really surfs the soul and gives us a glimpse into the true meaning of life.
