In Darkness presents the true story of Leopold Soha, who puts his life on risk to protect many people from their certain deaths. In the beginning, he saves them for his benefit but soon this mission turns into a necessity and moral obligation as well. This reality based tale showcases the Polish city named Lvov, which is occupied and dominated by Nazis. The movie is set against the backdrop of the authority of Nazi government on a Polish city, where only Nazi supporters are safe. The movie begins with Poldek a.k.a. Poldek and his young mate Szczepek. They steal for livelihood and their hiding closet is nothing else, but a sewer. They hide their maximum loot in the sewers which are no more in use. But one day, they witness a group of nude frightened women being followed and shot by German troops. This sight gives them a new possibility for looting and later on they discover that a group of Jewish people has taken refuge in the old sewers. To save their lives, the Jewish hide themselves in the shadow of waste. Poldek and his friends help them initially, as they get ready to pay him and he can do anything for money. Eventually, he starts helping them out of moral obligation. Soon this narcissistic thief evolves into a humanitarian hero that saves all the Jewish who are in danger.
