That movie was a warning for us to watch out for gifted youth, or ones that think they're special.
Synopsis: A teenage girl moves to a small town, to find nothing in common with the stoner-hicks who populate her highschool. So she begins an affair with her teacher. But with a serial killer on the loose and townsfolk disappearing around them, their relationship takes a turn for the worse. She breaks off the relationship and the rejection makes her teacher crazy.
Starring: Kat Dennings, Reece Thompson, Andie Macdowell, Josh Lucas
I keep thinking about when I think back to Daydream Nation. In a movie that spends most of its time trying to be hipper than thou, she breaks through the artifice to create a real character.Overall, I think Daydream Nation is a promising debut for Goldbach. Hell, perhaps I even would have liked it more without Boland, because she points out what is wrong with the rest of the film. I look forward to seeing what Goldbach, and Boland, do next. The funniest -- and cruellest -- moment comes when she reads the teacher's unpublished novel and recognizes herself as the "ephemeral" young woman who saves the tortured genius from himself. Then again, in a movie about the ups, downs and spin cycles of high school, gratuitous stabs at identity should be forgiven, because even if they don't work, they do build ,
Way these two stars have been captured for this item tells that this is going to be a romance drama to watch out with hope of being entertaining.
